Submission types

  • Paper: 20-minute oral presentation followed by a 10-minute discussion (slide deck)

    Three independent papers will be presented in each paper session (90 minutes), and appointed a chair.

  • Poster: visual presentation as a scientific conversation starter (roll up)

    Several posters will be displayed in the provided area and serve as a basis for interaction and discussion between the authors and interested scholars.

  • Symposium: complementary set of papers with a shared topic

    Up to four 20-minute oral presentations on a shared topic or from the same project will be followed by a 10-minute discussant commentary or a 10-minute joint discussion (90 minutes).

  • Paper as part of a symposium: Paper to be presented in a 20-minute oral presentation as part of a submitted symposium.

  • Round table: group discussion between relevant scholars on a current issue in theoretical psychology

    Three to four discussants from different countries will be presenting an argument or a comment on a specific topic or an issue of high relevance in theoretical psychology and engage in a moderated critical dialogue (90 minutes).

  • Other: we encourage any other format of presentation (video, performative, etc.) that participants find fitting for conveying their ideas about the conference theme.

    Limitation:  Each participant should not present more than two papers (yet they can chair or discuss one extra session).

Abstract submission guidelines

  • Paper and poster: author(s) should send an abstract no longer than 250 words with five keywords and information about the author(s) – names, affiliations, and email addresses.

  • Symposium: author(s) organising a symposium should send a symposium description (250 words abstract, five keywords); up to four individual authors should send papers descriptions (250 words abstract, five keywords), and information about the authors (see above). Each symposium can have one discussant. The description of the symposium is submitted independently from the papers included in it by the symposium organiser(s). In the field Additional information about the submission, a complete list of symposium authors and titles of their papers should be included.
  • Paper as part of a symposium: author(s) should submit each symposium paper independently. The submission should include the title of the symposium in the Additional information about the submission field of the submission form. 
  • Round table: author(s) organising a round table should send a description of the theme for the discussion (250 words abstract, five keywords), a short description of the modality of the dialogue (no longer than 200 words), and information about the discussants/authors (see authors information above). In the field Additional information about the submission a complete list of participating authors and a description of the modality of the dialogue should be included.


  • Other: author(s) should send an abstract no longer than 250 words with five keywords describing the content, a short description of the format (no longer than 200 words), and the information about the author(s) (see above).
